Imran Nazir is a right handed opening batsman and an excellent fielder. He start his international career in 1999 and since then never get a confirm position in the Pakistani cricket team because of his inconsistent performance in batting. One of the reasons of not getting a permanent position in the team was debut of other player or opining batsmen like Salman Butt, Mohammad Hafeez, Imran Farhat, Taufeeq Umar etc who also get chance to play for Pakistan in the same period. He played some great and memorable innings in his international career one of them was against Zimbabwe in which he made 160 runs on 121 balls with help of 14 boundaries and 8 sixes and Pakistan won the match for 99 runs.
Along with his dashing and hard hitting batting he is also a great fielder at point position. His fielding was his trade mark during his initial start of the career when the fielding of Pakistani team is not up to the international standards. He took same amazing catches and run outs which anyone not even think at that in Pakistani cricket team. Some critics says that the reason of his downfall was his early introduction in the Pakistani cricket team. They said he should have been given more chance to play for Pakistan-A team before his selection in the National team was made. This will help him to become mentally matured then he can utilize the opportunity better. If he focus and concentrate on his batting still he can come into the Pakistani cricket team but to make it possible he need to work hard.
