Imran Nazir is a hard hitting opening batsman of Pakistan. In his career he faced very difficult situations in term of his position and selection in the national team but he fought, survives and overcome those situations or difficulties with courage and has been able to comeback in Pakistani cricket team over and over again. He started his international career in 1999 and played international cricket since then for Pakistan. his position in the Pakistani team always remain under threat because several other opening batsman during that period starts playing for Pakistan those players include Mohammad Hafeez, Yasir Hameed, Taufeeq Umar, Salman Butt etc.
Imran Nazir was included in the squad for ICC World Cup 2007 in West Indies. In the last match of the World Cup he scored 160 runs on 121 balls with the help of 14 boundaries and 8 sixes. Because of his excellent hitting Pakistan has been able to score 349 runs in 50 over’s. In return Zimbabwe has failed to achieve the target and Pakistan won the match by 99 runs. Imran Nazir received Man of the match award for his innings of 160 runs that is also the best innings of his whole career. Although Pakistan eliminated in the early stages of the World Cup but still because of his innings Pakistani viewers have something to cheer.
